At this point I feel like I should add a note of caution about this information. The WHO reports number of people affected, but is there any known data on how long people remain infected with the flu virus and retain symptoms ?

Because if several thousands are to be considered not ill anymore, then including those cases in the daily numbers does not indicate clearly the current spread of the disease. It just shows the impact the disease has had over the cumulative period since H1N1 was first reported in late April.
