While it’s heaps of fun to ride your bike to school and walk down to the local park, roads and dangerous places built for car so you must play it safe. Here are a few tips for making you don’t run into any trouble on the roads, you can read Child Safety book blog.
Pedestrian Safety
Each year, kids, just like you and your friends are killed and injured playing near or trying to cross the road. Often they just forgot to look out for other cars.
Hint for kids to remember:
- alway lok for the safest place to close the road – traffic lights or a predestrian crossing are the best;
- cross in a group with your friends. A group or pair is more visible than a person on their own;
- when crossing a road – STOP, LOOK for any traffic, LISTEN for any approaching cars and WAIT until thereis no sign of traffic before you cross tha road;
- cross the road in the most direct route – roads are not places where youcan play;
- never run out onto the road without first looking, even you are chasing a ball;
- don’t cross between parked cars – often drivers can’t seeyou and you can’t see them;
- always walk on the footpatah. If there isn’t one, walk on the right hand side of the road towards approaching cars and as close to the kerb as posible;
- don’t forget to look out for cyclists who may be riding their bike on the footpath;
- at night, carry or wear something light in colour.
