iPhones Virus Trojan was detected

The security investigators from the company F-Secure announced about the appearance of the first Trojan created for the Apple iPhone.
The information about the virus first appeared on January 5 2008 on the forum ModMyiFone.com which was created for the iPhone users.
According to the forum announcement the harm of the detected virus is not that serious – after getting into the system the program called iPhone firmaware 1.1.3 prep brings on the display the word Shoes. But if the user attempts to delete the virus from the system, the code deletes the files from the basic directory /bin, which is absolutely necessary for the functioning of the device.
The utilites used for the functioning of the iPhone are stored in this folder. Until now it is not exactly clear what files are deleted for the harmful program. According to The Register the Trojan copies the code of the protocol OpenSSH and deletes the utilite files Ericas Utilites.
Also the specialists IB remarked that there exists the danger of installing of additional programs and the users who became the victims of this Trojan are recommended to delete the virus and reinstall the deleted programs on iPhone.
”This is the first Trojan for the iPhone. And although it cannot be said that it brings real damage we can state nevertheless that this is just the beginning”, comments on the situation Symantec.

Keeping children safe – some preventative measures
There are simple ways or skills parents and cares can talk to their children about regarding keeping safe.’Protective Behaviours’ give children some simple skills for copying with any difficult or dangerous situation. In particular, the focus on teaching children to recognise when situation is unsafe and to speak to an adult if they need assistance.
